Formed in February 2014 Lexden Saints U9’s (2015/16) have made huge strides in the development of several young players, allowing them to play without a ‘win at all costs’ attitude. Children have an opportunity to develop their footballing skills at engaging and enjoyable training sessions, whilst developing their tactical knowledge and other aspects of the beautiful game during matches.
We appreciate the supportive sponsorship provided by CR Swift Landscapes Ltd. providing the children with a full match kit and rain jackets.

‘I was approached by Alex White due to my son playing for the age above to start an under 7 team, and was lucky enough to have the support from a highly qualified family member (Adam) to enable me to take this on. I have been involved with Lexden Saints from an early age as a former player, starting at under 7’s all the way up to men’s. I am very proud to now have the opportunity to be managing a team. Having played for many seasons in goal but also a few as a midfielder, I have a lot of experience that I can share with the boys. My aim is to use this to help them gain experience and knowledge in all areas of the game. I have previously managed Brooklands for four successful seasons, although a completely different challenge taking them from under 15’s to 18’s. The skills I have learnt from this can be added to my previous experience to enable us all to get the most from the team.’

‘I am currently player/assistant manager in the reserve team at Wivenhoe Town FC. Throughout my playing career I have also represented Dedham Old Boys, Stanway Rovers and West Bergholt. Playing in many positions, including in goal, I believe I have a great level of playing experience. I am currently employed by Colchester United FC working on their Football in the Community scheme (previously Colchester United Community Sports Trust) and have done so since September 2010. Prior to this I coached for a similar, yet smaller, company from 2007. I hold the FA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football, attended the FA Youth Award Module 1 & 2 courses and most recently passed, Supporting the Delivery of PE and School Sport qualification. I have shadowed coaches at Colchester United’s academy and at the age of nineteen was put through to the UEFA B course. Since I have coached at Lexden Saints I have had great pleasure in developing players and providing an enjoyable yet challenging environment for the players to play and learn from.’
